CYPRUS SERVICES ORIENTEERING CHAMPIONSHIPS (CSOC) – 5/6 MAY 11 ADMINISTRATIVE INSTRUCTION

INTRODUCTION

1. The BFC CSOC will take place at Troodos and Paramali 5/6 May 11.   The aim of this instruction is to provide information and administrative requirements for the Championships.

PROGRAMME

2. The Individual championship events will take place on 5 May 11 (A & B
Courses), followed by a Harris Relay team event on 6 May 11.

a. Day 1. – Individual Event A and B courses.

Registration opens   0930
Course opens    1000
Registration closes   1130
Course closes  1300

b. Day 2. – Harris Team Relay.  Teams will consist of 2 x 3 man teams with their combined time  providing the overall team time.

 Registration closes   0945
 Mass brief   0950
 Mass start    1000
 Prize giving    1130

ADMINISTRATION

3. Eligibility.   All personnel who are on held strength of BFC as at 6 May 11.

4. Registration.   The entry fee is €5 per event, a runner entering both the individual and team championships will pay €10.00.  Cash will be accepted and receipts provided at the Individual Championships 5 May 11.  Each team is to complete the registration form at Annex B and return by 28 Apr 11 to allow the correct number of maps and admin numbers to be compiled.

5. Maps.   Maps will be pre-marked and bagged for both days.

6. Directions. The directions for the 2 days are as follows:

a. Day 1 – Signed from the Troodos roundabout.  The admin area will be close to the Sun Valley Ski club.

b. Day 2 – Signed from the junction of the westbound exit slip road of the A6 and the B6 in Paramali.

7. Safety.   All personnel are to carry a safety whistle and a compass.  Full leg cover advised but not mandatory.  Troodos and Episkopi station Medical Centres are aware of the event.

8. Prize giving.   Stn Comd Episkopi, Lt Col  A. Pickford RIFLES has kindly agreed to present the prizes.  The prize giving will take place immediately after the Harris Relay Event at 1130 or sooner.  All attendees are requested to stay for the prize giving.
